Alexander Tochilovsky is a graphic designer, typographer, curator and educator. He graduated with a BFA from The Cooper Union, and holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He is currently the Curator of the Herb Lubalin Study Center of Design and Typography. In 2009 he co-curated the exhibition Lubalin Now, and since 2010 he has curated five other exhibitions: Appetite (2010), Pharma (2011), Type@Cooper (2012), Image of the Studio (2013), & Thirty (2015). Since 2007 he has taught typography and design at the Cooper Union School of Art, and also teaches the history of typeface design at Type@Cooper, the postgraduate certificate program he co-founded in 2010.
Ruedi Baur has been placing his design work in the context of the public space since the 1980s. Working primordially as a graphic designer for numerous cultural institutions, he has also been teaching interdisciplinary courses in different schools since 1990s. He led the research institute Design2context in Zurich, then Civic city in Geneva. Programs like: “Urban Spaces and Design”, “Orientation-disorientation”, “Visible-invisible”, “Civic design”, ”Design and complexity”…, present his attitude as designer, teacher and researcher.
As designer he intervenes on problems related to the identification, orientation, scenography and, in broader terms, the representation of institutions, urban spaces and political territories. Baur created the Intégral network in 1989 with its own studios: Intégral Ruedi Baur in Paris and Zurich. Today, he lectures and develops research programs – HEAD University of Geneva, ENSAD in Paris, University of Strasbourg. He recently designed the information concept for the 4 new lines of the Subway Paris, the wayfinding system of the New School in New York, the Cologne-Bonn and Vienna airports…but also social design projects for hospitals, prisons, memorials, and neighbourhood’s.
HAWRAF is a relatively new design studio founded by Andrew Herzog, Carly Ayres, Pedro Sanches, and Nicky Tesla. Based in New York, the studio focuses on creating interactive communications that invite audiences to engage in meaningful ways. The result might be a marketing campaign, job application, newsletter, chatbot, book, t-shirt, poster, film, installation, activation, contemplation, or website, but always invites users to say something back and be a part of the conversation.
They do it well, too. In 2017, Carly was named one of the Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company. Andrew was invited to speak at the AWWWARDS Conference in London and Carly at nordic.design in Stockholm. Nicky was named Best Musician in high school. He was in the jazz band.
Based in Copenhagen, Mads Berg is widely known for his modern art deco style and vintage graphics. His main fields of illustration are posters, brand illustrations, key visuals, editorial illustrations, cover art and murals. The illustrations are characterized by a style which translates classic poster art into a modern and timeless look. His pared back environments provide an elegant simplicity that delivers a concise narrative message. Mads has been working as an illustrator and designer since 2001 and has collaborated with numerous multinational clients such as Coca Cola, Orangina, San Diego Zoo, Lego, Monocle and Wired. Mads graduated from the Danish Design School in 2001, and since then, he has been working independently as an illustrator. Occasionally working as a lecturer at design schools. Several times member of the jury, awarding the best in Swedish and Norwegian Contemporary Illustration. In 2010 he won the “Best Danish Children’s Comic” prize and in 2009 he won the Danish Design Prize. Mads’ poster art is represented at the Danish National Design Archives at the Design Museum. Mads also designs park maps for world famous amusement parks.
Prior to joining Temasek Polytechnic School of Design (Communication Design) as a lecturer, Sean was co-founder of Pupilpeople Design Pte Ltd (Pp.), where he also operated a risograph press and developed a workshop and publishing platform.
His interests in typography and design education has led his work to be featured in Tokyo Type Directors’ Club Annuals, Typojanchi—International Typography Biennale, and Taking a Line for a Walk—Assignments in design education, amongst others.
He believes that his current role as a lecturer is a tangible way to contribute to, and shape, the future of the design industry.
Jillian C. York is a writer and activist whose work examines state and corporate censorship and its impact on culture and human rights. Based in Berlin, she is the Director for International Freedom of Expression at the Electronic Frontier Foundation and a fellow at the Center for Internet & Human Rights at the European University Viadrina.
Jillian co-founded Onlinecensorship.org, an award-winning project that seeks to encourage companies to operate with greater transparency and accountability toward their users as they make decisions that regulate speech. She is a frequent public speaker on topics including censorship, surveillance, and the impact of social media on our lives and our societies. Her writing has been published by the New York Times, Al Jazeera, the Atlantic, the Guardian, Quartz, The Washington Post, and Die Zeit, among others.
Camila Rosa is a freelance illustrator and designer from Brazil living in Brooklyn NY. She started her life as an artist in 2010 with the female street art collective “Coletivo Chá” and since that she is always exposing her work on the streets, exhibitions, magazines and books. Her work translates women from an alternative perspective: Latin-American, brave, powerful, and not fitted to mainstream beauty standards. For her, it’s important that her work could be used to support and educate girls and women around the world. She did commissioned works to Refinery29, Bust Magazine, Resistance is Female collective, The Debrief and others. Also, she was one of the selected to had her work exhibited in Los Angeles, Seattle and Ashville with the Touring Exhibition by Amplifier Foundation and Women’s March. In New York, she was invited to be part of the exhibit “A Future We Can Vibe About it” that happened in the last summer.
Bruno Sellés (Barcelona, 1976) is a self taught graphic designer and typographer.
Since 1997 he is founder and creative director of Barcelona based design studio Vasava. As a cross-media studio, they develop projects of an impressive wide scope of disciplines ranging from branding, custom typography, illustration, interactive design and animation.
Vasava’s passion for the craft shines through everything they do and this has become sought after by brands like Nike, Adobe, Diesel, Mango, Budweiser, Comme des Garçons, FC Barcelona or Washington Post.
Bruno has designed several commercial font families as Synopsis or Matchpoint distributed by MyFonts, and custom tailor-made fonts for brands as Football Club Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid or fashion brand Mango.
Bruno believes in passion, talent and commitment in support of creativity and continually push the boundaries of visual communication. He has spoke in design conferences and schools worldwide, in cities like Seoul, NYC, Los Angeles, Stockholm, Beijing, and Buenos Aires.
He teaches regularly in Master of Art Direction in Elisava and Blanquerna Universities in Barcelona.
Régine Debatty is a writer, curator, critic, and founder of ‘We Make Money Not Art’, a blog which received numerous awards, including two Webby awards and an honorary mention at the STARTS Prize, a competition which acknowledges “innovative projects at the interface of science, technology and art”. Régine writes and lectures internationally about the way in which artists, hackers, and designers use technology as a medium for critical discussion.
Founded in Paris in 2008, Les Graphiquants is a design agency investigating and experimenting to draw signs, which transform clients’ stories into the abstract, the poetic, the sensitive, the black and white, sometimes the colour, always the meaning –without forgetting an inimitable dose of peculiarity. The approach has always led to an intelligent, brutal as well as delicate imagination combined with rigorous work methods. A wide range of skills including graphic design, typographies, identities, art direction, signage and websites.
Zupagrafika is an author, independent publisher and a creative design studio based in Poland, founded in 2012 by a Hispano-Polish duo – David Navarro and Martyna Sobecka. The studio has a special affinity with Polish Poster School, post-war modernist architecture and paper.
Zupagrafika also creates, illustrates, designs and publishes playful architectural books and objectst which catalogue modernist and brutalist edifices from the former Eastern Bloc and beyond. They are authors of the book ‘Brutal London: Construct Your Own Concrete Capital’ (2016, Prestel Publishing), an adaptation of their worldwide acclaimed ‘Brutal London’ paper-cut collection.
Their works are regularly on display at international poster exhibitions and have been awarded numerous design prizes.

Hans Christian work as a designer in his own company Oh Yeah Studio. Oh Yeah Studio started out as a hobby project back in 2008 with different self-initiated exhibitions and has had a natural development since then. He also work as a teacher at Kristiania college and work as Creative Director in Bekk Consulting, in addition he also work with personal projects, such as exhibitions, graphical prints, posters and murals. His clients are Nike, Adobe, Unicef, Red Cross, Adidas, ESPN and Burton. He has his education from Westerdals School of Communication and Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London. He was recently handpicked by Adobe to represent Scandinavia in Adobe’s annual Creative Jam in Bilbao and has been represented in a number of books and magazines.
